Committee and council approve permit requests
The Common Council Licensing & Permit Committee met Monday night. They:
- Unanimously approved The Sharing Center’s application for a Class B retailer’s license for the event, “Gemini Salon & Spa Holiday Open House” to be held on Nov. 30. The Sharing Center is the Western Kenosha County’s version of the Shalom Center. This event is for a wine and cheese sampling four-hour fund-raiser.
- Unanimously approved Carolyn’s Coffee Connection’s application for a 30-day temporary theatre license. This will last until New Year’s. The owner was not sure if she should be applying for a cabaret license or a theatre license, but she didn’t want to be in non-compliance for her live musical events. Her establishment never stays open past 9 p.m., and no alcohol is sold there.
Both items approved at the Licensing & Permit Committee meeting above were also approved at a special Common Council meeting afterwards.
