Blizzard Watch issued for region Tues.-Wed.
The weather forecast language has gotten a little more forceful regarding the snowy and windy conditions expected over the next few days.
The National Weather Service has now issued a blizzard for all of Kenosha County and most of southeastern Wisconsin broadly defined. The blizzard warning will be in effect from 3 p.m. Tuesday until 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The forecast also has upped the ante on snow tonight. From 2 to 3 inches are now forecast overnight. The largest snow is still expected Tuesday night with blizzard conditions following.
A manpower emergency has been declared at the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department due to the expected blizzard. All available deputies will be on patrol, rerouted from training and other non-vital assignments, said Sgt. Bill Beth, the department’s spokesman.
