Pleasant Prairie issues statement regarding storm clean-up
Pleasant Prairie Department of Public Works crews are continuing the cleanup of downed trees following the strong storms that occurred on the evening of Thursday, June 30.
Efforts are first being focused on areas with urgent issues related to utilities and trees blocking roadways. Crews are expected to complete removal of trees blocking roadways on Friday evening.
Crews are expected to begin curbside collection of branches on Tuesday, July 5. Curbside collections are expected to take place over a period of four weeks. Residents may put branches and yard debris in the same area where they would place leaves for collection. No branches or yard debris should be placed in the roadway, road shoulder or ditch. Doing so is unsafe and will not result in a faster collection.
Hours at the Village Compost Site have been extended over the holiday weekend in order to accommodate storm cleanup. In addition to regular Friday and Saturday hours, Pleasant Prairie’s Compost Site will be open for village residents on both Sunday, July 3, and Monday, July 4, between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Those residents wishing to remove their branches and yard debris prior to curbside collection may bring material to the Compost Site located at 8600 Green Bay Road.
