Kenosha holiday garbage collection announcements
The following announcement regarding holiday garbage collection has been issued by the Kenosha Department of Public Works.
There will be no curbside garbage, recycling, brush, yardwaste, tire, or bulk collection Thursday, Nov. 24.
Garbage, recycling, brush, yardwaste, tire, and bulk collection will be delayed one day for Thursday’s and Friday’s routes only. Thursday’s route will be collected on Friday, and Friday’s route will be collected on Saturday. Regular collection schedules will resume the week of Monday, Nov. 28th.
If you have brush, tires, or bulk garbage that needs to be picked up, please call the Public Works Department at 653-4050 a minimum of one working day before your regular collection day.
Other garbage and waste related announcements are:
- The City of Kenosha Bulk Waste Drop-Off Site, 1001 50th St., will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24th. The site will be open for normal operations, Friday, Nov. 25th, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 26th, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- The City of Kenosha Yardwaste Drop-Off Site, 4071 88th Ave. (Highway H), will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24th. The site will be open for normal operations, Friday, Nov. 25th, 2011 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The site is for City of Kenosha residents only. No commercial disposal. The Drop-off Site will be open Saturday, Nov. 26th, , 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Drop-off Site will remain open until the end of November. During the months of December through March, the Department of Public Works will accept yardwaste and brush by appointment only at the Yardwaste and Brush Drop-off Site at 4071 88th Ave., by first calling the City of Kenosha Street Division at 653-4070 (7 a.m. 3 p.m). The site will re-open April through November.
- Curbside collection of bundled brush and branches will conclude Saturday, Nov. 26th. Fall weekly curbside collection of yardwaste will conclude Saturday, Nov. 26th.
- The Concrete and Brick/Block Drop-Off Site, 6415 35th Ave., will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24th. It will reopen on Friday, Nov. 25th during their normal hours of operation, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
