At 5:18 p.m., a sheriff’s deputy is responding to a report that a stop sign at Highways N and S, Somers, has been knocked down.

Person calling in the report is now reportedly holding up the sign, dispatch says.

UPDATE 5:27 p.m. — State trooper at the scene says no one is there now. Sign is propped up against a post and visible, but should be replaced by a temporary sign. Deputy says he will try to retrieve a temporary sign.
