Pleasant Prairie PD announces release of sex offender

The Pleasant Prairie Police Department is making notification of the release of convicted sex offender Carey P. Riley into the village.

Riley was to moved to a residence in the area of the 12100 block of 120th Court in Pleasant Prairie after being released from prison on Jan. 17, 2012.

His related offense includes First Degree Sexual Assault of a Child (2003). Victims include preteen female and male relatives and acquaintances. Assaults included the use of force.

Riley will be a lifetime registrant of the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registration Program and will be electronically monitored. Riley is to have no contact with his victims; he is to have no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18; he is not allowed to visit taverns, bars or liquor stores, and is not to consume alcohol or drugs. Riley is required to register face-to-face with local law enforcement and to comply with standard sex offender rules from his parole agent. If Riley violates his conditions, he will be apprehended, and violations will be investigated immediately.

“This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our intention to inform the public of this offender’s release,” the Police Department bulletin says.
