Also, Wilmot Raceway has partnered with the Kenosha Area Convention & Visitors Bureau to display a race car at the Kenosha Area Convention & Visitors Bureau’s I-94 Visitor Information Center in Pleasant Prairie. The Interstate Racing Association Outlaw Sprint car will be on display from April 18 through May 23. Everyone is welcome to stop in, view the car, and pick up information about the Kenosha area, and other destinations in the state.
The car is one of the three sprint cars owned by 1M – Mock Racing Team. Its driver is Phillip Mock of Pleasant Prairie. Phillip is a second generation driver who has been involved with racing since he was about 6 years old. His accomplishments since joining the IRA Racing Series in 2009 include 2009 Rookie of the Year, 10th place IRA point standings in 2010, 7th place IRA point standings in 2011, and 2nd place finish in the Wilmot Raceway Point Standings in 2011. Mock’s car is a 2008 Maxim Chassis with about 40 nights of racing on it. The car was raced last year two times as a backup car. In July 2011, the car was taken apart completely and repainted. This race car will be raced again in August 2012 at the Knoxville Nationals in Iowa. Visit www.phillipmocksprintracing.weebly.com for more about the race team.
Call (262) 862-2090, or visit www.wilmotraceway.com for the complete schedule. The I-94 Visitor Information Center is located at the southeast corner of I-94 and Hwy. 165 (Exit 347).
