Home invasion in Pleasant Prairie interrupted by resident

Pleasant Prairie police released the following statement regarding a home invasion reported earlier today that was thwarted by the resident:

Pleasant Prairie Police were called to a residence in the 4100 block of 96th Street early Monday morning when the home owner was awakened by a stranger in the residence. The call was received at 3:19 a.m.  The offender fled from the house and was chased out into the yard by the homeowner where a struggle ensued. The offender was able to get away and fled the area last seen on foot. The man is described as a white male, in his 20’s with a “scruffy” appearance. He is approximately 5’11” with a slender build. He was wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie. Police used a K9 to search the area but were unsuccessful in locating the suspect. It appears that a screen on a patio door may have been cut to gain entry.
