Pleasant Prairie Police make arrest in home invasion
Pleasant Prairie Police have arrested a suspect in a home invasion in the village earlier Monday that was interrupted by the resident of the home.
This statement was released by police:
On Tuesday, May 15, Pleasant Prairie Police arrested 30-year old Gregory Miller of Lake Villa, Illinois, for Burglary and Battery. The arrest was made in connection with a home invasion that occurred at approximately 3:20 a.m. on Monday, May 14. Miller was taken into custody without incident at his mother’s residence in the City of Kenosha. Early Monday morning, a homeowner reported to police that he had woken up to find a stranger in his residence in the 4100 block of 96th Street. The man fled the home, but was tackled by the homeowner and a struggle occurred in the yard of the residence. The stranger was able to get away after striking the homeowner in the head with a flashlight. The homeowner received a bump on his head, but was otherwise uninjured. Police used a K9 to search for the offender, but were unable to locate the man. During the struggle, the homeowner gained possession of the suspect’s cell phone. This led the police to Miller. It is believed that Miller cut a screen on a patio door to gain access to the home. Pleasant Prairie Police Chief Brian Wagner commented, “The idea of someone entering someone’s home uninvited at any time is troubling, to say the least, but to do so in the middle of the night is especially brazen. We are pleased that this offender was quickly apprehended.”
