Storm-related emergency calls

With the thunderstorm passing over Kenosha, local emergency services personnel have begun answering storm-releated calls:

At about 3 p.m., Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie fire departments units were responding to a report of a lightning strike on a pole at 68th Avenue and 60th Street.

At about 3:14 p.m., the Kenosha Fire Department was responding to a report of a possible lightning strike at Bain School, 2600 – 50th Street, in Kenosha. Dispatch reports that a neighbor saw lightning appear to strike the roof of the school two times along with smoke, but no flames.

At about 3:19 p.m., Kenosha Fire Department units were responding to a report of a transformer sparking in the 7700 block of 17th Avenue.

At about 3:26 p.m., a Kenosha Fire Department unit is responding to a report of a pole struck by fire at a business in the 6500 block of 52nd Street. Sparks may have set grass on fire there, too.
