Storm-related calls being answered by fire departments and police

Here is a roundup of some storm-related incidents being handled by fire departments and police officers.

UPDATE 8:21 p.m. — Pleasant Prairie Fire and Rescue and village police officers are responding to a report of a pole that may have been struck by lightning in the 10300 block of 28th Avenue, in Pleasant Prairie.

UPDATE 9:17 p.m. — Pleasant Prairie Fire and Rescue responding to a report of arcing wires and a tree on fire in the 8400 block of 47th Avenue, in Pleasant Prairie. First unit on scene says no flames showing, but it is still smoldering. At 9:23 p.m., police officer says fire restarting now. Nearest house is about 100 feet away.

UPDATE 9:51 p.m. — Pleasant Prairie Fire and Rescue responding with a single engine to a home in the 7600 block of 50th Avenue for a report of melted wires in the basement. No smoke or fire being reported.¬†Homeowner¬†believes lightning strike nearby may be cause.
