Units responding to water emergency at Eichelman Park
At 1:48 p.m., Kenosha Fire Department units and the Kenosha County Dive Team are responding to Eichelman Park on Third Avenue to a report of a possible water emergency.
A person on the beach at park believes they may see a person floating off shore. Not confirmed yet. Coast Guard also notified.
UPDATE 1:53 p.m. — Two police officers on scene.
UPDATE 1:54 p.m. – Fire Department personnel on scene; says someone does appear to be in the water about 30 to 40 feet off shore from the sea wall.
UPDATE 1:57 p.m. — Personnel have made contact with person in water.
UPDATE 1:58 p.m. – Additional police being called to scene to control large crowd that is gathering.
UPDATE 2:02 p.m. — Person has been brought to shore and appears to be not breathing, according to scanner transmissions. Person may have been in water for about 20 minutes. Person being brought to ambulance. Dive team being cancelled.
UPDATE 2:06 p.m. — Some FD units clearing the scene.
UPDATE 2:17 p.m. — Medical examiner being called to the scene.
