Pike River Rendezvous this weekend

The Kenosha Public Museums presents the annual Pike River Rendezvous this weekend, Friday, August 3rd, through Sunday, August 5th.

More than 300 re-enactors will be encamped on Simmons Island Park (5001 – 4th Avenue, in Kenosha) for a historic recreation of the time when Native Americans and fur traders gathered to exchange goods and services. Talk with costumed re-enactors about life at a rendezvous, learn through craft and trades demonstrations, and watch juggling, musical acts, and pirate battles on the beach. Plus the family activities area will be open Saturday and Sunday. Children of all ages can play period games and make arrowhead or bear claw necklaces and corn husk dolls. Period foods and souvenirs will be available for purchase.

Rendezvous hours are from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday, and from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday. The event is free and open to the public.
