Aldermen to host meeting on Southport Beach House study

The city of Kenosha released the following statement regarding a community meeting of the Southport Beach House:

A community meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Southport Beach House to discuss the restoration of the beach house. The City will present the results of a recent study which evaluated the current state of the building. Kenosha Alderpersons Jan Michalski and Steve Bostrom are co-sponsoring the meeting. The Southport Beach House is on the state and National Register of Historic Places, as well as designated as City of Kenosha Landmark No. 112. It was built between 1935 and 1941 as a project of the Works Progress Administration.
