Units responding to fire at Carthage College
At 11:51 a.m., Kenosha Fire Department units are responding to a report of a fire at Carthage College in Kenosha.
Dispatch says fire is in Johnson Hall, fourth floor, with a room on fire, smoke and flames seen by people at the scene.
UPDATE 11:55 a.m. — Fire safety officer and an additional ambulance being dispatched to the scene.
UPDATE 11:56 a.m. — Fire personnel at the scene reports smoke showing from fourth floor, south side of the building.
UPDATE 11:58 a.m. — Deputy on scene reports flame visible from window. Johnson Hall is a residence hall that has a capacity of about 330 residents, according to the Carthage website. “Johnson is the home to five Greek organizations: Tau Delta Psi, Delta Upsilon, Phi Kappa Sigma, Sigma Omega Sigma and Alpha Chi Omega sororities,” the website says.
UPDATE 12:15 p.m. — Fire investigator being dispatched to the scene.
UPDATE 12:47 p.m. — A medical unit and an engine are clearing the scene and returning to quarters.
UPDATE 12:51 p.m. — Fire scene command being terminated.
