Units responding to train hitting pedestrian
At 7:15 a.m., Pleasant Prairie Fire And Rescue units and village police are responding to a report of a pedestrian hit by a train just south of Highway 50, in Pleasant Prairie.
The Amtrak train was reportedly traveling at about 79 miles an hour at the time of the incident, dispatch reports. This is the more western tracks at that location.
UPDATE 7:17 a.m. — Fire personnel has located the patient on the east side of the tracks seriously injured but alive. Scene is south of the 7700 block of Highway 50. Flight for Life medical transport helicopter being put on standby.
UPDATE 7:24 a.m. — Flight for Life now responding. Expected to be at the landing zone in about 20 minutes.
