Rescheduled Kenosha Fall Festival is Saturday
Live music, free pumpkins and crafts are among the highlights of a new event sponsored by the City of Kenosha. The Fall Festival will take place from noon to 4 pm on Saturday, October 20th, at Veterans Memorial Park, 54th Street and Sixth Avenue. It was originally planned for October 13th, and postponed due to rain.
Jerry Smith’s Pumpkin Farm is providing 100 small pumpkins, which will be distributed to the first 100 children in attendance at the event. Craft supplies for decorating pumpkins also will be provided. Members of the Kenosha Art Association (KAA) will offer face painting for children. My Animix will demonstrate Anime games.
The entertainment lineup includes music by the duo, “Happy,” featuring Susan Larkin and Jean Preston of Kenosha. They will perform from noon to 1 pm, and from 2 to 3 pm. From 1 to 2 pm, actors and storytellers will take the stage. Kids can learn how to act like their favorite Halloween character during a presentation by Maureen Cashin Bolog of Actor’s Craft. Vittoria DuMez will perform as a friendly witch, telling stories related to Halloween. Costumed Anime players from My Animix also will perform.
Beginning at 3 pm, artists from the KAA will demonstrate pumpkin carving techniques.
