Units responding to report of robbery in Kenosha

At about 11 a.m., Kenosha Police are responding to a report of an armed robbery at a business near 18th Avenue and 50th Street in Kenosha.

Dispatch reports that suspect may fled in a gray high top van in good condition. Business owner may have fired a gun. Other witnesses say suspects may have fled on foot, a police officer at the scene reports.

UPDATE 11:15 a.m. — Police officer at the scene clarifies that only one suspect involved. Business owner fired shots but does not think they hit the suspect, who fled to the south on foot.

UPDATE 11:18 a.m. — Robbery was originally reported at 10:52 a.m.

UPDATE 11:21 a.m. — Suspect description that police are working with now: Male black, 25-30 years old, tall, skinny, wearing a dark brown winter jacket and cap. He put money in a black plastic bag.

UPDATE 11:43 a.m. — Updated description from camera: male black, 30s, goatee, wearing black ball cap, black hooded sweatshirt with hood up over cap, black jacket with white lettering across shoulders, black shoes with white, blue jeans.

UPDATE 12:07 p.m. — The Kenosha PD Facebook page includes the following info on this incident: “The suspect was armed and is described as a black male, approx 30 yrs old, tall, has a goatee. He was wearing a black coat with a white emblem over the left breast, a black ball cap, a black hoodie with the hood pulled up over the hat, blue jeans and black shoes with white color on them.
