VFW Post 2751 dedicates Veteran’s Memorial in Somers
VFW Post 2751 in Somers dedicated their Veteran’s Memorial, recently constructed behind the Somer’s Municipal building, at a ceremony Saturday
The memorial cost bout $60,000 for three pavilions and concrete work. The post will take care of the flags at the memorial while the rest of the facility has been turned over to the town. The post conducted many fundraisers to pay for the memorial.
People can rent the pavilions. A now empty concrete pad is expected to one day have some sort of armament display. There also are trees yet to be planted.
The post retains rights to the site for Memorial Day and Veterans Day services.
