Units responding to report of fire at Kenosha Achievement Center

At 9:38 a.m., Kenosha Fire Department units are responding to a report of a fire at the Kenosha Achievement Center, 1218 – 79th Street, in Kenosha.

Dispatch says they received a call from staff at the center that there is a fire in a furnace on the roof with flames and smoke showing. The building is being evacuated.

UPDATE 9:41 a.m. — First unit on scene says no signs of fire showing. They will investigate.

UPDATE 9:42 a.m. — Fire personnel on the scene report that fire was electrical in nature in a rooftop heating unit. Achievement center maintenance has extinguished the fire. No problems seen inside the building. An engine and truck remaining on scene; all other fire department units clearing and returning to quarters.

UPDATE 9:49 a.m. — Remaining units clearing the scene.
