Kenosha Police arrest suspect in shooting

Kenosha Police issued the following statement regarding a shooting we originally reported on Sunday:

On 01-07-13, at approximately 1217 hours, officers of the Kenosha Police Department responded to the 3600 block of 48th Street in an attempt to locate an adult male suspect wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred in the same area on 01-06-13. While investigating this case, officers believed that the suspect was in an area residence. The residence was secured by officers, and the Kenosha County Tactical Response Team was requested to respond and assist the on-scene officers. At approximately 1512 hours, the 36-year-old male suspect surrendered to police and was taken into custody. Detectives will be recommending charges to the Kenosha County Attorney’s Office in connection with this case. An area Kenosha Unified elementary school was contacted, and the school went into lockdown as a precaution. The suspect in this case was taken into custody without incident. There were no reported injuries.
