Units responding to smoke in residence on Sheridan Road in Kenosha

At 11:26 a.m., Kenosha Fire Department units and police officers are responding to a report of smoke in a residence in the 7400 block of Sheridan Road, in Kenosha.

UPDATE 11:29 a.m. — Dispatch reports that occupants are out, though some animals may still be inside. First fire unit on the scene reports fire visible.

UPDATE 11:31 a.m. — Additional engine and medical units being dispatched.

UPDATE 11:33 a.m. — Traffic from the north on Sheridan Road being diverted at the angle road at St. Mark’s Church and School. Semis are the only traffic being allowed to stay on Sheridan in either direction, so they do not have to travel through residential streets.

UPDATE 12:05 p.m. — Fire command reports that there is still active fire on all floors of the building.

UPDATE 2:11 p.m. — Fire command reports fire is under control. Some fire units will begin to be sent back to quarters.
