Man’s body found in retention basin on Kenosha northside

Kenosha Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the body of a man found dead today on Kenosha’s north side.

From the Kenosha Police Department press release:

On 01-09-13, at approximately 1115 hours officers of the Kenosha Police Department responded with a medical unit from the Kenosha Fire Department to the 2600 block of 18th Street for an unconscious male who did not appear to be breathing. On arrival to the area, officers located an adult male, fifty-five years of age, who was found to be deceased. The identity of the adult male will not be released pending notification of family. This adult male was found in the lower area of an open retention basin. The investigation is in the initial stages with no manner or cause of death determined at this time. The Kenosha Police Department is asking any citizens that may have been in the area of this retention basin and observed any activity 01-08-13 to 01-09-13 to contact the Kenosha Police Department Detective Bureau at (262) 605-5203, or Crime Stoppers at (262) 656-7333.
