Lance Middle School to perform in Wisconsin Rapids
The following announcement regarding an upcoming out-of-town performance by The Lance Middle School eighth grade Symphonic Band was released by the Kenosha Unified School District today:
The Lance Middle School eighth grade Symphonic Band will be performing at the Hotel Mead in Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday, January 19, 2013, as part of the National Band Association’s Wisconsin chapter convention. The Lance Middle School Symphonic Band is one of only four bands from throughout the state chosen to perform, and the only middle school band selected. Bands selected to perform at the convention submitted concert recordings to the organization’s Board of Directors for performance consideration at this event.
Music to be performed at the convention concert includes, “Normandy Beach” by John Edmondson, “Whirlwinds” by Jodie Bradshaw, “Synergies” by Robert Sheldon, “The Golden Vanity” by Ralph Vaughan Williams, “I Vow to Thee My Country” by Gustav Holst and Ralph Vaughan Williams, and “Imani” by Sean O’Loughlin. Kathryn Ripley, director of bands at Lance Middle School, will lead the students.
