KenoWi to end publication

KenoWi.com is ceasing publication as of today, the local news website’s parent company, 2Hill Media LLC, has announced.

“While we have made great progress since KenoWi.com started in September of 2010, we have not been able to achieve the kind of results that would have allowed us to keep KenoWi.com going as a viable business,”said Darren Hillock, the site’s co-publisher. “We want to thank all of you who became regular readers of KenoWi over the last two plus years. We also want to thank our contributors — especially Margie Gentner and Earlene Frederick — for helping us publish an interesting and timely alternative news source about Kenosha, Pleasant Prairie and Somers. We also appreciate all of the community organizations and government representatives that kept us informed of their activities along the way and the many loyal readers who spread the word about KenoWi.com.

2Hill Media’s other local news website, westofthei.com, is unaffected by this announcement and will continue to cover Western Kenosha County.

Sorry to hear that you are ceasing publication of kenowi. Enjoyed your site and Margie’s writing and Earlene’s photos. Will check out westofthei.com

What a shame! I read your posts regularly and will sincerely miss KenoWi. Thank you for providing timely information to our community for the past two years.

  • Eric S. says:

Sad to see this happen. Your posts were higher quality then KN covering city events.

I sure hope Margie will have a spot at westofthei. Having her report on issues at the county level that affect us out here westofthei sure would be great. Her thorough and in-depth reporting of both the city and county boards was so extensive you almost felt like she was writing verbatim. Margie, the Kenosha News doesn’t have enough ink to keep up with you.
