KenoWi to end publication

KenoWi.com is ceasing publication as of today, the local news website’s parent company, 2Hill Media LLC, has announced.

“While we have made great progress since KenoWi.com started in September of 2010, we have not been able to achieve the kind of results that would have allowed us to keep KenoWi.com going as a viable business,”said Darren Hillock, the site’s co-publisher. “We want to thank all of you who became regular readers of KenoWi over the last two plus years. We also want to thank our contributors — especially Margie Gentner and Earlene Frederick — for helping us publish an interesting and timely alternative news source about Kenosha, Pleasant Prairie and Somers. We also appreciate all of the community organizations and government representatives that kept us informed of their activities along the way and the many loyal readers who spread the word about KenoWi.com.

2Hill Media’s other local news website, westofthei.com, is unaffected by this announcement and will continue to cover Western Kenosha County.

About those technical difficulties …

Regular, or even occasional, readers of KenoWi.com may have experienced some difficulties in reaching the site late Thursday and much of Friday. Our hosting company was having unexpected server difficulties that resulted in the problem. Eventually we were moved to a new server, which has cleared up the issue. The experience also has prompted us to think about some more vigorous hosting and we are considering several options. The end result will be an even better experience for those that visit KenoWi.com in the future.

Thank you for your loyalty and patience while we worked this out.
