Kenosha Expo 2012 coverage
Kenosha Expo 2012 opened today at UW-Parkside.
The Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce event is a showcase of local business. It also provides a variety of family fun activities and food, too.
Turnout was strong on Saturday, with chamber Executive Director Lou Molitor estimating about 3,000 attending.
Sound like fun? Lucky for you there’s another day. Expo continues Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at UW-Parkside. Admission is $2 per person.

Expo 2012 this weekend
The 2012 Kenosha Expo will take place this weekend.
Expo will take place at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on March 10 and 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Frank J. Petretti Fieldhouse.
Expo is a family-friendly, fun and informative opportunity to meet the many businesses and organizations that make the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce such a strong association. This community event will showcase many businesses and organizations, many with products and services for purchase on-site. This year, the Kenosha Community Health Fair has been incorporated into the Expo featuring health screenings and so much more. For more information about the health fair, click here.
The Expo also features the Great Kenosha Raffle — your chance to support the 2012 Scholarship Fund and win great prizes. The Kenosha Area Noon Optimists Club presents the Family Activity Area at Expo with a chance for kids 18 and under to win bikes and free t-shirts.
Admission to Expo is $2.

KABA and KACC announce local business award winners
A pair of Kenosha County business organizations will recognize seven local companies and one individual for their success on Thursday, Nov. 3.
The 2011 Kenosha County Business Excellence Awards, presented by the Kenosha Area Business Alliance and the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce, will be held at the Student Center University Ballroom at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The revised format for this year’s awards includes a distinction between smaller and larger businesses, as well as recognition of emerging companies known as the “Fast Five.”
Grill Games at Kenosha lakefront this weekend
The inaugural Grill Games Competition & Festival hosted by the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, along with many area sponsors, will sizzle on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Grill Games is an all-day event including a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned competition, music festival, family fun area, and numerous food vendors.
Leadership Kenosha accepting applications
Leadership Kenosha is currently accepting applications for the 2011-12 program.
Leadership Kenosha is a Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce program in partnership with Kenosha County UW-Extension. Leadership Kenosha helps citizens to develop their leadership skills, explore community issues, network with local leaders, and conduct a hands-on community project. The program addresses economic, social, educational, and governmental concerns, and provides a unique view of how the county works.
Lakeshore BID and business permits process discussed by Kenosha Licensing and Permit Committee
A rather lengthy discussion took place regarding the Kenosha Lakeshore Business Improvement District at the Licensing and Permit Committee meeting earlier this week.
Jennifer Heim, chairman of the BID, and Lou Molitor, executive director of the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce, spoke to the Committee.
