The body found in a Somers cemetery Sunday morning has been identified as that of Lisa Marie Mezera, 26, of Kenosha, a Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department statement said.

Sheriff’s spokesman says Somers death was not random
Sgt. Bill Beth, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department spokesman, released the following statement just before noon regarding an investigtion into a body found in a Somers cemetery Sunday morning:
We are far enough along in the investigation to let the public know that this does not appear to be a random act of violence. This does appear to have been directed at this specific victim. We do not believe there is any reason for the public to be worried about having this type of thing happen to them, as it does appear to be isolated to this individual.”

Railroad crossing at Highway E east of H set for work
The Kenosha County Department of Public Works announces scheduled work to improve the Canadian Pacific Railroad crossing located on Highway E, approximately 0.5 miles east of Highway H, in Somers.
The Canadian Pacific Railroad Company will be reconstructing the existing crossing on Highway E. The project is scheduled to begin on Monday, Aug. 13, and be completed on Thursday, Aug. 16. Highway E will be closed to through traffic between Highway H and Highway EA. Access will be provided to all residences and businesses. A posted detour route will be in place.

At 9:14 p.m., sheriff’s deputies and units from Kenosha Fire Department, Bristol Fire and Rescue, Somers Fire and Rescue, Paris Fire Department, and Pleasant Prairie Fire and Rescue are responding to a report of a crash involving a car and a semi-tractor trailer in the southbound lanes of I-94, just south of Highway 50.

A crash that appeared to involve a car and a semi tractor-trailer took place on East Frontage Road between Highway N and 142 in Somers this morning.
A report or details on the crash were not available as of about 3:30 p.m., a Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
Somers Fire and Rescue were at the scene as well as sheriff’s deputies. Flight for Life medical transport helicopter also responded.
